Key features of the Greenworks 16-Inch 40V Cordless Lawn Mower

Greenworks cordless lawn mowers are setting the industry standard in quality and performances and the GreenWorks 16-inch 40v cordless lawn mower, 4.0 ah battery included 25322 is no exception.

The G-Max 40v uses just one 4Ah Li-Ion battery and the specs says you will get around 40 minutes of run time before the battery is flat. They say that should net you around 1/2 acre… see the performance section below more about this.

The cutting deck is 16 inches making ideal for small to medium yards and keeping it light to maneuver around garden beds and edging without any hassles or hard work.

The mower features a 2-in-1 system allowing you either to bag the clippings or remove the bag off and use the mowers mulching capabilities.

If you’re more of a mulcher than bagging, don’t expect to get the same results with a cordless. You’re better off staying with a gas powered mower.

The optimal lawn height for cool grass is around that 2 1/2 inch mark. The cutting deck on the GreenWorks 25223 g-max 40v 19-inch cordless lawn mower ranges from 1-1/4 inch to 3-3/8-inches to give you the best cuts in all environments

Adjustment of the deck is easy with just a single lever located on top of the mower housing given you 5 different heights to choose from.

Because of the lightness of the machine rising and lowering the is effortlessly making it easy for just about anyone to control the cut height.

Performance

picture of an exmark mowerThe average performance you can expect from the standard 4Ah battery is around 40 minutes of run time on a fully charged battery.

If you’ve got a thicker lawn you can expect the run time to less as for if you are going to scalp the lawn back.

Also if you are bagging or mulching. Mulching will use a bit more juice over bagging which will cut the run time down even more.

Many consumers have reported that when new the performance and battery life is great and does what it says on the tin within reason.

Most however have never gotten 40 minutes of run time out of 1 single charge. After speaking with Greenworks directly I’ve been advised that the average battery run time is more like 20-30 minutes from a 4Ah battery.

From using cordless hand tools every day I believe more the latter specs and times.

Another thing that will lower battery run time is treating the mower like a gas one and trying to cut grass from say 4″ down to 2.5″ in the one cut. This will also exhaust the battery power quickly

In saying that, its still pretty good run time, and most small yards should be covered in this time and if not more than likely you will have more than one battery if you’ve got multiple Greenworks cordless tools.

Services

Services are limited with any of the GreenWorks cordless lawn mower series. With no spark plugs to change, no oil to drain out, and no gas going stale the only real worries are blunt mower blades and battery performance.

I wish I could tell you more about the service side of things but that’s pretty much as simple these are over a gas lawn mower.

Storage

You should store your lawn mower in a dry place and out of the elements where possible.

Easy to install, the handles fold down for more a compact storage under benches or small storage sheds.

Another thing I like about this product is you can vertically mount and store the mower on the wall if you do have limited floor storage and space. Try doing that with your gas mower and not make a mess with oil or gas dripping out.
